The grumpy old dog from Section 9 has been one of Prem's favorite characters of all time and his most used online moniker. As a result, a lot of folks on various tech sites, blogs and forums know him as Daisuke Aramaki for more than a decade and a half now. He's in the process of resurrecting his online life after a long absence and decided to use this 9 year old account for the site pages.

Prem is a Distinguished Quantitative Consultant & Advisor at a EU based fintech firm founded in Winter of 2014 that offers dynamically optimized portfolios with the aid of proprietary software. Risk management is the firm's lodestar. He is currently overseeing implementation of Machine Learning strategies towards asset allocation.

Previously, Prem was a Management Consultant (later, Quantitative Expert/Mentor) for Horváth & Partners. He was involved with the Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Automotive and Defense practice groups. His focus areas included advanced analytics, connected platforms, technology infrastructure, supply chain management, frontier technologies in chemical plant operations and new models for intelligence analysis.

Prior to Horváth & Partners, Prem was a Quantitative Analyst at a Defense Intelligence Company in Germany. He started out in the Data Mining/Knowledge Management division and quickly grew to be its second in command. His responsibilities included steering model design, guiding roadmap / implementation, building and managing team of analysts supporting systems development within the company and handling execution for tradecraft support.

Prem began his research career at University of Stuttgart, where he developed an array of probabilistic machine learning based reverse engineering algorithms to identify complex network attributes in large-scale, high-throughput biological data. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and holds an additional Masters in Physics from University of Hagen. He is a comic book, anime & scifi nerd, a self-taught OK programmer, UFO & High Strangeness researcher, blogger and a sucker for election and sports analytics.
